FailBrief ("we," "our," or "us") operates as a GitHub App that provides AI-powered CI/CD failure analysis. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.
2. Information We Collect
When you install and use FailBrief, we collect:
- GitHub Account Information: Your GitHub username, email address (if public), organization name, repository names, and metadata necessary for the App to function.
- CI/CD Workflow Logs: Failed workflow logs from your repositories, which are temporarily processed to generate failure analysis summaries.
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our service, including the number of analyses performed and plan usage.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Provide and maintain the FailBrief service
- Analyze CI/CD workflow failures and generate summaries
- Post analysis comments on your pull requests
- Monitor and improve service performance
- Communicate with you about service updates and billing
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing to third parties, or any purpose not listed above.
4. Data Retention
- CI/CD Workflow Logs: Processed in real-time and deleted immediately after analysis (not stored permanently).
- Analysis Results: Retained for the duration of your subscription and for 30 days after cancellation.
- Account Information: Retained until you uninstall the GitHub App or request deletion. Deleted within 30 days of account termination.
- Payment Records: Retained for 7 years as required by tax and accounting regulations.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- Encryption in transit using TLS 1.3
- Encryption at rest using AES-256
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Access to user data is restricted to the service owner and automated systems only
- GitHub OAuth tokens are stored securely and never logged
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to provide our functionality:
- OpenAI API: We use OpenAI's GPT models to analyze workflow logs and generate failure summaries. Workflow logs are sent to OpenAI's API and processed according to their Privacy Policy and API Data Usage Policies. OpenAI does not use API data to train their models.
- Payment Processing: Payment information is processed by Stripe and is not stored on our servers.
- Infrastructure: We use AWS (Amazon Web Services) for hosting and data storage.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Uninstall the GitHub App at any time to stop data collection
- Export your data upon request
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
9. Data Storage and Compliance
Your data is stored in secure data centers located in the United States (AWS US-East-1). We comply with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR for European users and CCPA for California residents.

Our website uses essential cookies to maintain your session when you're logged in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect the functionality of our service.
